The NSA Wants Your Kids
So surfing digg.com this morning on the train (more about that in a minute), I came across a site that caught my attention. "
CryptoKids
", a set of cute cartoony animal pre-teens that happen to have Cryptography as a hobbie. In fact that is how the communicate with each other. We all know that 10 year olds need to encrypt messages to their friends so that the Evil Dr. Dad can't foil their plans to go to the mall. Any how, the whole name of this character set is "America's CryptoKids, future Codemakers and Codebreakers.
While I think it is good for kids to learn cryptography, because in computer science and security it as absolutely necessary, I don't know if I want the NSA to be the ones to teach them. It seems like they are looking for recruites at childhood. I have to tell you, I'm not in any hurry for the Little Boy to grow up and work for the NSA.
